Nokia BH-804 Mini Review

from my Nokia BH-804 post.

I finally have time to actually use the device last night.

I unpack it and connect the adaptor to the dock and put the headset in to charge it.

Fortunately, the device charge as expect. The led on the top light up “red” meaning that it’s charging.

After some time, may be like an hour or so, I came back and found that it is fully charge and the led is now “green”.

The led light look very much apple inspired. It look like a led on apple wireless keyboard (the new one).

I try paired it with my N97, everything go smoothly according to the manual.

It works great. After a day of using it, i found that its sound quality is much better than the BH-101.

I can hear clearly and it seems that the other party didn’t know that i’m using a bluetooth headset. So far so good.

The headset itself is very light and good looking. I like its design.

I have it on for a few hour and I didn’t feel annoy by it.

The volume is good, maybe too loud even. You can control the volume from the headset. it’s nice to have this feature.

I guess that is all i have to say.

ps. the headset make high pitch noise some time when it making call but went away when the dial tone start.

Pro: Good Design, Lightweight, High Build Quality, Good Sound Quality.

Cons: charging required included adapter or dock, a bit pricey, strange noise.

When I first got my hand on the N97. I was so excited that I overlook a lot of mistake made by Nokia.

While it’s not fetal but It’s annoying and get into the way when you want to get things done.

I even feel that the 5800 XpressMusic is a more polished product.

Even though the 5800 has it bug but nothing come as close to the bug in N97.

One of the reason I feel this way is because the N97 is way more expensive and I expect more when I pay more.

I noticed that sometime the device didn’t produce that satisfying sound when i slide it open and close. I know this is not a big deal but it made me wonder if i close it right ? and it made me slide the device more to make sure i got it right. If nokia want it to make noise, please make it more consistent. like if you want a slide to be silent please make it that way all the time not one time clicking and the other not.
This is very annoying one. The backlight don’t always come on when you unlock. I hate the n97 for this. I hope this is just a software glitch not an actual hardware problem. (more on this here and here)
the phone can be unresponsive and unreliable when you are in call. for example: I can’t end the call and have to take the battery out in order to reset the phone.
sometimes photo don’t show up when it is actually in the device. I can browse for it with file manager but no the photo app.
the phone doesn’t always use the ringtone you set but use the default nokia ringtone. which is not fetal but annoying the hell out of me.

that’s all i could think of at this time but i feel like i missed something so when I can think of it i will be posting more.
